Data-driven start ranges for the phylo-niche objective

Builds lower/upper bounds for each unconstrained coordinate from the empirical occurrence moments – the design space sampled by niche_multistart().

Usage

niche_start_ranges(data, parameterization = "noncentered_bounded")

Arguments

data

A list from prepare_phylo_niche_data().

parameterization

One of "noncentered" (raw deviations, no bound on rho), "noncentered_bounded" (raw deviations, rho = rho_cap * tanh(z_rho); matches the Stan models), "centered", or "centered_lograte" (centered traits with declared log-rate parameters and lognormal rate priors).

Value

A list with lo, hi (named numeric vectors in niche_theta_layout() order) and center (the data-driven centre of the ranges).
